It's a few weeks into the new academic year - and we all know that large class sizes have long been a concern for parents, and a challenge for teachers in many of our schools.

But there are schools with the opposite problem - schools with classes so small that they have to teach different lessons to different ages, all in the same room.

You might think it sounds like a recipe for chaos, but our reporter Caron Bell has been to visit two very small primary schools, who believe that mixing ages is actually a blessing in disguise.
