Wisdom – ours for the asking?

Every day we face a plethora of decisions, choices, relational difficulties and organisational politics that are a normal part of our working lives.  All of these require wisdom.  Our various electronic devices place an ocean of knowledge at our fingertips, yet this does not guarantee wisdom.  As Dietrich Bonhoeffer said: ‘To understand reality is not the same as to know about outward events… The best-informed man is not necessarily the wisest.’  Solomon, when facing the responsibilities of his role as king, made wisdom his primary request, 2 Chronicles 1:10.  James assures us that wisdom is ours for the asking,  James 1:5.
