Letter from Kiev, Ukraine

'Due to continued tensions, especially after Russia's invasion and annexation of Crimea , we had no choice but to postpone the final session of our four-week training course for teachers; our leadership seminar for teacher trainers; our international teachers' conference; and Ray's intended trip to Armavir, Russia for a conference there, as well as missing the anniversary celebration of a school in Zaoksk, Russia. We tried not to totally disappoint the Christian school children expecting to participate in the Festival of Gifts in early May, but the situation here is just too unpredictable to risk their safety.' Last week Ray was in Riga, Latvia with Dr. John Shortt to complete the final session of our four-part training program for teachers in Christian schools in that country. Those who have attended have been very positive about the program. What lies ahead for us? We cannot even imagine how this current conflict will play out. Please join us in prayer for God's solution to this crisis. Please pray especially for member schools in areas of high tension: Sevastopol (Crimea); and schools in eastern Ukrainian cities, particularly Donetsk, Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov.'
