‘The teaching of evolution has long been a contentious issue in parts of the US, with fundamentalist Christian groups arguing that greater emphasis should be placed on God when students learn about the existence of humanity.  But a group of parents in Kansas has taken this opposition to a new level by launching a court action against the state’s school board over its decision to teach evolution in science lessons at all, claiming that it is “atheistic”.’
